Hey guys! I know I've been MIA but I promise its been for a good reason! With A back from his deployment, we took a week long cruise meaning we completely unplugged from our electronics for the week! I meant to schedule a blog to post while I was gone, but because of the type of person I am, it didn't work and the blog disappeared forever. Oops. Anyways! We cruised through Carnival, and I don't know about other cruise lines but with them you can go to a Chefs Dinner. For those of you that don't know, when you pay for a cruise, you are getting your room, a small variety of drinks and as much food as your heart can imagine. BUT theres always extras for purchase. On most Carnival ships those extras are the Steakhouse and the Chefs table. The Chefs Table is 75$ per person (it sounds crazy now, but just wait...) plus 15% gratuity. The 'experience' is limited to 14 people per experience, at most. They try to keep it around ten people to keep it more exclusive. After you make your reservation, you will be notified about which night your dinner will be. We got our date to be the second to last night which ended up being perfect because we were kind of sick of the buffet by then! We only had six other people with us, two awesome families that we had great conversation with! First we took a tour of the kitchen, where the sous chef told us how the kitchen runs, and facts about the staff and the food.

We then sampled a few AH-MAZING (yes that was necessary) pieces of food before going to our private 11 course meal.

Yes, 11 courses, and yes we were struggling by the end. It was some of the best food I have ever tasted and some of the strangest. This was the ONE time that I forgot to bring our camera so I could take pictures but one of the great ladies that was with us, emailed me some pictures of the food. So they are her pictures, not mine! I will be posting more now that things have calmed down at home, for now enjoy pictures of the yummy food. xo-B
